Commitments

Bringing together governments and non-state actors to make concrete commitments to protect ocean health and security, the 9th Our Ocean conference received 471 commitments worth USD 11,35 billion across the six issue areas of the conference. Since 2014, the Our Ocean Conference has now mobilized more than 2,600 commitments worth approximately USD 140 billion.

Our Ocean Conference recognizes the importance of further extensive mobilization and active involvement of all related stakeholders. From governments and civil society organizations to the private sector, active involvement is sought primarily through the submission of Voluntary Commitments. This extensive mobilization is expected to be catalytic for identifying innovative solutions and supporting ocean science and funding, which will constitute key outcomes of the 3rd UNOC.
