Commitments
Since 2014, the Our Ocean Conference has made significant contributions
to the conservation and sustainable use of the ocean, with over
2,600 commitments valued at approximately USD 140 billion.
The Conference has emphasized the need for broader mobilization and
active engagement from all stakeholders, including governments,
civil society, and the private sector, primarily through the submission of
voluntary commitments.
Building on this legacy, the Republic of Korea warmly invites you to propose
new voluntary commitments to advance “Our Action” for “Our Ocean.”
These commitments should be ambitious, tangible, and impactful,
with a clear timeframe, measurable outcomes, and alignment with
at least one of the Conference’s six action areas:
Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), Marine Pollution, Blue Economy,
Climate Change, Sustainable Fisheries and Maritime Security.
As the 10th Our Ocean Conference highlights ‘Digital Oceans’ as its
cross-cutting theme, the Digital Oceans plenary will feature not only
panel discussions but also the presentation of commitments leveraging
digital technologies to drive action across these six areas.
The 10th Our Ocean Conference has chosen the theme
‘Our Ocean, Our Action’ to promote global actions for a sustainable ocean. Particularly, this 10th conference will discuss ‘Ocean Digital’ as a special agenda, focusing on means to drive ‘Action’.
Ocean Digital is a concept that combines the ocean industry and digital technology, serving as an implementation tool to achieve a sustainable ocean swiftly and systematically.
